The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
Give Me Liberty or Give me Death.
The good ole' US of A, isn't it a great place to live? I know, we are taxed to death and our government has lost site of their role to the people but I still say that it has got to be the greatest place in the world to live.
We still have the freedom to chase our dreams, we have the ability to select what religion we practice, we can choose where our children will go to school and we still have free enterprise. Oh yes, and one other thing. We can vote, and we can choose who to place in office and we can get involved in local politics and we can make a difference, if we want to.
I say that with a grain of salt. I know most of the people that I talk too think we need some real changes in our country, not just the ones the current administration refers too. But here's the big question, how many are willing to do something about it? It must be that the majority likes things just the way they are because we keep ending up with the same leaders in office. Maybe its all the freebies that are available? Maybe its because unemployment will pay you more than that new job you're going to find? Maybe some of us are just tired and are losing our fight? Maybe its because you just don't feel you can make a difference?
I read recently that as long as plundering is easier than working, that's what the majority will do!! Think about that for a few minutes. I related it to the government. As long as we allow them to plunder (or take) our hard earned money, they won't do anything to make it better.
I also read that only about 10% of the population really cares enough to try and make a difference, that the rest of us won't do anything until we are directly affected by the plundering. Trust me folks, whether you believe it or not, your being plundered by you know who.
Lets go back to the part about not being able to make a difference. I know I felt that way for a long time. I've pretty much always believed that no matter who gets into office, that they would be corrupted by the system sooner or later. That there was no way that I could make a difference.
Recently however I've decided that like Patrick Henry who said - Give me Liberty or Give me Death, that I'm not going to go down without a fight.
I also read recently, that when good men or women do nothing, that evil will prevail.
I don't know about you, but I want to be in the 10%. I want to be part of the solution, not the problems. I believe that when good men and women pull together and have the right direction that real and positive change can happen.
Follow along if you will, I can't let the secret out all at once. Check back regularly and I'll share more tidbets and if you want to learn how to be a part of the 10% - just let me know.
BTW - Happy Memorial Day to you all, I pray that you took a moment to remember those who served and please support our troops whenever you can.
